The world’s tallest Grandfather clock welcomes you as you enter downtown Kewaunee. The 35′ 10″ tall grandfather clock was designed by Richard Kohrt, owner of Svoboda Industries at the time, as a way to promote his newly named business as well as attract additional tourists to Kewaunee. The clock was built in 1976 by Jake Schlies with the help of his son, Rodney, as a gift to the people of Kewaunee.

When a new bridge was built in 1984, Svoboda moved its business and the clock to its new Top of the Hill Shop located on Highway 42. Following extensive restoration, the clock body and head were placed in its current home in downtown Kewaunee, facing the harbor on August 27, 2014. This impressive, working clock is a must-see whether you’re visiting or passing through!
