The C.D. “Buzz” Besadny Anadromous Fish Facility is a hatchery station operated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Trout and salmon migrating from Lake Michigan are led by flowing water past two underwater viewing windows in a fish ladder that leads them to six collection ponds. Fish are moved from the ponds into the processing building to be spawned and harvested. Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as you sit on the overlook near the dam, then walk along the bypass channel to the underground viewing area. Take the self-guided tour or call ahead if you wish to book a group tour or observe fish being processed. Open daily from spring through fall during daylight hours.
