Algoma has over 160 years of rich history on Lake Michigan. Many events and activities contributed to its early growth, but one of the oldest and still popular activities is fishing. Whether you dock your boat in one of Algoma’s marinas, reserve space on a charter vessel, or try your luck on the pier and in the river, Algoma’s piece of Lake Michigan has it all.
When you’re not fishing, enjoy the 1/2-mile boardwalk, many downtown shops, historic murals, ethnic and family restaurants, and a public beach for swimming or just plain relaxing.
Nestled in the harbor basin is the Algoma Municipal Marina, a full service marina with launching, and seasonal and transient dockage available. Boaters can get specific information at any ti me by calling the marina at 920-487-2232 or visiting the marina page.
Anglers fishing for the latest information can call the fishing hotline at either 1-800-626-3090 or 920-487-3090, and even get a glimpse for themselves of current conditions from the Marina Cam. Information on a number of other local marinas can be found at www.algoma.org.
