Kayak or paddle the Ahnapee River. The Ahnapee River is a great, flatwater paddle for beginners. The river is damned at Forestville, where it gently winds its way to Lake Michigan. Kayak rentals are available at Ahnapee Shores Camping Resort, The River by Bayshore, and Timber Trail Campground. There is no fee to launch along the river, at Olson Park, or Crescent Beach. Olson Park at N8108 Hwy 42, Algoma, has a float-style launch.
