Valhalla Recreation Area of Bayfield County is part of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Trails are maintained for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking during the winter season. When there is not snow on the ground, trails are open to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Motorized ATV and snowmobile trails intersect various points of the non-motorized trails. Daily or annual user pass is required. Dogs are not permitted on ski/snowshoe trails but are permitted on a leash during the summer season. To access the trailhead, go northwest on County Highway C from Washburn for 8.5 miles.
