The museum pays tribute to the brave men and women who defended our freedom during the 20th century. It began as a memorial in honor of Major Richard Bong, a Medal of Honor recipient and America’s all-time leading Ace, who piloted more than 200 missions over the Southwest Pacific during World War II and destroyed more than 40 enemy planes.

There are extensive exhibits representing World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Wars. Special exhibits include a fully restored P-38 Lightning and an M-60 Tank. Heavy Metal Tours conducted during the summer allow you to get up close and personal with the Fighter and Tank. The museum is happy to accommodate group tours, but please schedule ahead.
