Door County Land Trust consists of more than 8,500 acres of protected preserves that are available to the public for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and wildlife observation. More than a dozen preserves offer trails ranging from a half mile up to almost three miles.
Sturgeon Bay contains three of the Nature Preserves: the Legacy Preserve at Clay Banks, Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Nature Preserve, and Bay Shore Blufflands Nature Preserve.
