Newport State Park has 17 rustic backpack (hike-in) campsites and one group site. All gear must be hiked or biked in. Sites have a fire ring with flip-up grill, lock box for food and a bench. There is a pit toilet available, and water can be obtained from the park office or a solar pump near the picnic shelter by Lot 3. Firewood is not sold at the park, but campers can gather any wood that is dead or on the ground.
