Big Bay Town Park provides spectacular views of the Big Bay Lagoon, along with beach access and a trail that connects to Big Bay State Park. There is no usage fee. Big Bay Town Park campground features 61 campsites total, with 22 electric sites and six remote sites located on the Lagoon Ridge Trail.

Campsites are available on 19 of the 21 islands that make up the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. There is also one campsite available on the mainland unit of the park. Permits are required for all camping, and fees do apply, so be sure to contact the park headquarters before setting out to any of the available sites.

Want something more remote? Backcountry camping options within camping zones are available on 16 of the islands. Camping outside of individual or group campsites is available on all islands except Devils, Eagle, Gull, Long, and York. Primitive camping zones have been established on the rest of the islands for visitors seeking a remote backcountry experience with no facilities. Camping zone maps are available at the headquarters visitor center in Bayfield.
