Lighthouses & Light Stations
Transforming the people and landscape for more than 130 years, these lights have guided ships on the Great Lakes. Wisconsin’s coasts are home to over 50 lighthouses, and stations with more than 30 of these historic structures still functioning and open to the public.
Explore Wisconsin Coasts
In Wisconsin, there are over 1,000 miles of beautiful Great Lakes coast on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. There are over 25 unique harbor towns on these shorelines that welcome you to explore and discover their treasures.
National Marine Sanctuary
In October 2015, NOAA announced its intent to designate a new national marine sanctuary to help conserve nationally-significant shipwrecks and related maritime heritage resources in Wisconsin.
