Rock Island State Park is located on Rock Island, which can be reached by taking the Karfi ferry from Washington Island. The passenger-only ferry runs from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Vehicles are not permitted on Rock Island. Rock Island State Park offers camping, ten miles of hiking trails, lighthouse and a swimming beach. The Thordarson Boat House was built in 1910 and is one of the most iconic places in the county.
The Park has 40 primitive, walk-in tent sites, two of which are group campsites. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. There are vault toilets available and drinking water can be obtained near the dock and boathouse. Firewood is available for purchase at the Park.

Kaps Marina
Kaps Marina on Washington Island is a family-owned and operated marina with eleven slips and docks up to 50 feet. Amenities include 50-amp electric and water hookups, showers and restrooms, Wi-Fi, fuel dock, ship store and more. Pets are welcome. The marina also rents Jeeps for touring the island
