The Washburn Area Historical Society (WAHS) Museum is housed on the second floor of the Washburn Cultural Center and contains a collection of photographs and artifacts depicting the people and industries that shaped Washburn. One exhibit is dedicated to Washburn native Tom Blake, considered the “godfather of modern-day surfing”. You won’t want to miss the Black Phantom Schwinn, the bike coveted by everyone during its time.
