The Beyer Home was built in 1868 and is believed to be one of the first brick homes in the county. The original structure was Italianate-style, but it was later remodeled into a Queen Ann style home with wrap-around porch and three-story tower room. The home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and now functions as a museum. The adjacent Carriage House contains a collection of vintage vehicles, sleighs, canoes, and other displays.
